Here’s One Way to Stop Public Urination in Boston
We’re no urban planners or policy makers here at Boston.com, but we know a good idea when we see one. That was our initial thought when we saw this sign, purportedly from the Czech Republic, posted on Twitter.

Is it real? We hope so. But to paraphrase Voltaire, “If the Czech YouTube Pee-Pee Threat did not exist, it would be necessary to invent it.’’ In other words, let’s bring this policy to Boston. Immediately.
In all honesty, we’re sort of already there, at least when it comes to the MBTA. The folks who run the Transit Police Twitter stream have already addressed public urination with their #MBTA etiquette campaign:

It’s not clear that you really need more than a snapshot to make the point, and we really don’t want to know who’s gonna watch the YouTube videos, but it can’t hurt to try.
