Do You Really Need Fireworks at a Controlled Demolition?
Dear demolition companies of America: You get to implode whole buildings at a time, and we love it. The implosion and controlled drop is more than enough to keep most people interested in your work.
Apparently the people of Albany, New York are a tougher crowd than the rest of us, however, because a demo crew there decided to add a fireworks display when they knocked down the Wellington Hotel Annex. The Saturday demolition was needed to clear the way for a $66.5 million redevelopment project, according to the Albany Business Review.

Fireworks are fun, don’t get me wrong, but they sort of pale in comparison the the 100 pounds of dynamite used to knock over an entire 11-story building. It’s like having a Kit Kat before your birthday cake.
