How Much Is Your Paycheck Really Worth in New England?

Your dollar just doesn’t travel as far in New England as your paycheck might suggest.
That’s according to a nifty tool from NPR. The tool uses government data to show how the prices of goods and services in a given state differ from the national average, and then adjusts metro areas’ median incomes to reflect that difference. In all 15 New England metro areas listed, the cost of living adjustment brings workers’ “real’’ incomes down.
