SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’ once again dissed Patriots and Eagles fans in the same joke
It's safe to say that the New York writers' room isn't a fan of either side.
Saturday Night Live
‘s writer’s room might be rooting for the asteroid on Sunday.
For the second straight show, Weekend Update host Colin Jost delivered a one-liner mocking both Patriots and Eagles fans. Jost first took aim at the two infamous fan bases last weekend.
“The Philadelphia Eagles will face the New England Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl, making it the first Super Bowl where the fans have even worse brain damage than the players,” Jost said.
“Yeah, go Giants,” the Staten Island native added. “Go Giants.”
But the jabs didn’t end there.
SNL had already thoroughly mocked Patriots and Eagles fans in an earlier sketch, but Jost returned to the subject during Weekend Update.
“Tomorrow night, the New England Patriots will face the Philadelphia Eagles fans in Super Bowl 52,” he said. “So, whether you’re a Pats fan or an Eagles ran, remember: Child support was due on the 1st.”
