‘Who is the spiciest memelord?’: MIT student wins Jeopardy college championship
MIT senior Lilly Chin was the big winner.
MIT senior Lilly Chin was the big winner on the Jeopardy! college championship show Friday night, taking home $100,000, but it’s her final Jeopardy! answer that has people talking.
Chin was far enough ahead of her opponents that her answer didn’t matter, so she wrote, “Who is the spiciest memelord?” in response to the prompt, “Astronomer who began his epitaph, ‘I used to measure the heavens, now I shall measure the shadows of Earth.”
Chin told host Alex Trebek the answer was a shoutout to her friends at home who watch meme videos all the time.

Chin’s road to Jeopardy! began when she took a 10-minute qualification test online during class because it was the only time it was offered, according to MIT News. She’s been tight-lipped since the January taping, but was finally allowed to celebrate with the MIT community last night during a screening of the show, according to MIT News.
