Massachusetts State Police confirmed they sent a cruiser to assist with the traffic disruption. MSP told NBC10 that they received a report of four abandoned crates on the side of the road Monday morning.
A spokesperson for Amazon told NBC10 Boston the carts had been fully removed from the highway. The spokesperson also said they are working with law enforcement on an investigation of the incident.
The traffic incident happened on Cyber Monday, during which Amazon promised “unlimited fast, free delivery on over 300 million items” for Prime members, including same-day delivery.
Representatives for Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
