The MBTA is making changes to bus and subway service this fall, promising increased frequency and reliability.
Red, Orange, Blue, and Mattapan lines will be affected by service changes, according to a statement from the MBTA.
Red Line frequency will reportedly increase every day due to faster travel times from improved track conditions and starting Sept. 29, service will continue to increase on weekdays.
The MBTA said frequency will increase on the Orange and Blue lines as well, while the Mattapan Line will see trip shifts throughout the day to “improve schedule reliability.”
Some service changes for the ferry and the commuter rail will also go into effect in October and November, the MBTA said. The RIDE service will stay the same.
Several bus routes are also changing to improve consistency. Riders can use the MBTA’s trip planner to find alternative service, if needed.
