Two Boston leaders in the software industry are the most powerful people in New England’s technology scene, according to a new ranking from The Boston Globe.
The newspaper released its third annual Tech Power Players 50, a list that ranks leaders in the region across the tech space, ranging from venture capital to cybersecurity to artificial intelligence. According to the newspaper, the leaders were selected from more than 200 nominations and ranked by an advisory committee, composed of local leaders in business and technology, and members of the Globe newsroom.
Ultimately, two leaders were chosen to take the No. 1 spot atop the ranking: Andrew Bialecki and Ed Hallen.
Bialecki is the CEO and cofounder of the software company Klaviyo, which raised $345 million in its initial public offering in September, according to the Globe.
“Why a Tech Power Player?” his ranking reads. “For leading the only tech startup in Boston to complete an IPO in 2023.”
Bialecki was also featured in the 2023 and 2022 lists.
Ed Hallen is the chief product officer and cofounder of Klaviyo and helped guide the company during its initial public offering, according to the Globe.
“Why a Tech Power Player?” his ranking reads. “For helping lead the only tech startup in Boston to go public in 2023.”
Hallen and Bialecki met while working at a tech consulting firm and later reconnected to launch Klaviyo in 2012, according to the Globe.
