Meet Boston Dynamics’ newest robot

Waltham-based company Boston Dynamics announced its newest robot Spotmini Thursday on its YouTube page.

Spotmini is a smaller version of the Spot robot. It weighs 65 pounds including its arm and is the company’s quietest robot, Boston Dynamics said in the video’s description. The robot is all-electric and runs for about 90 minutes depending on what it’s doing.

Spotmini has a variety of sensors in its limbs, which Boston Dynamics says helps the bot perform a variety of functions and movements including walking, climbing stairs, housework, and running—but maybe not running on banana peels.  Don’t worry, he knows how to get himself back up.
