Mass. gambling board: Tom Brady’s better

Well, no kidding.

Tom Brady? State gaming regulators are fans. AP

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission spent an hour Thursday talking about daily fantasy sports companies like Boston-based DraftKings.

And they spent about 30 seconds during the discussion talking about how awesome Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is.

Commissioner Enrique Zuniga, while listing his concerns with the heavily scrutinized industry, said the games’ player performance projections are similar to betting lines in sports books.

“Somebody’s saying, or making a judgment call, that Tom Brady’s going to be worth more than Tony Romo, or whatever the case may be,’’ Zuniga said.

“That’s clear,’’ interrupted Commissioner James McHugh, voicing his belief that Brady is superior to Romo, the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback.

“That is clear,’’ Zuniga agreed.

“Or Peyton Manning,’’ piped in commission Chairman Steve Crosby. “Or Drew Brees.’’

Zuniga segued back to his point gracefully.

“But even Tom Brady has a bad day every once in a while, by the way,’’ Zuniga said. “And there’s that element of chance.’’
