Star Wars hoverbikes are coming and they are awesome
The U.S. military could soon be using hoverbikes, and any Star Wars fan will tell you that it is a terrifying but awesome idea.
U.K. startup Malloy Aeronautics has designed a prototype bike, which reportedly maxed out at 92 mph—even though it stayed tied to the ground during testing.
The U.S. Army Research Laboratory recently announced a contract with Malloy Aeronautics to develop a hoverbike for military use. Malloy Aeronautics has opened up an office in Maryland, and engineering firm Survice is also part of the team working on designing the bikes.
