Yes it’s cold outside this morning, frostbite not an issue before over 30 min on EXPOSED skin. Recess usually lasts <30 minute, takes place mid-morning/afternoon, less cold then. As long as kids have jackets & hats etc. the cold isn’t dangerous. If running around, great exercise! pic.twitter.com/3sIVV8gTo2

Worcester County wins the cold prize this morning. Congrats to Hardwick for Gold. Athol for Silver and Barre for Bronze. #Cold #Winter 🥶❄️ pic.twitter.com/0bvBu2IH81

Arctic air is with us for the next few days.
Feeling like the single digits much of the day with sun fading behind increasing clouds ⛅️. A touch of snow on the Cape/Islands tonight #WCVB pic.twitter.com/J9yUTYiP7F
NEXT 7 DAYS

Arctic air is locked in the next couple of days keeping storminess to the south. The Cape/Islands get clipped by a touch of snow briefly tonight. Cold eases late week with temps finally climbing above freezing this weekend. Chance of light snow early next week #WCVB pic.twitter.com/PBTUt2lO26

A cold couple days on tap. Boston should be able to crack the single digits for the first time in a couple years either Tuesday night or Wednesday night. Some subzero lows in the usual colder/interior spots. #wbz pic.twitter.com/ZZGx4AMxoU

Outside of a chance for the Cape/Islands to get nicked with some light snow tomorrow night, it’s a whole bunch of cold and dry this week. #wbz pic.twitter.com/kr8zZ6fjC4

It’s been nearly 2 years since Boston (Logan AP) fell into the single digits.

We’ll make a run these next 3 mornings, but Wednesday will be our best shot. Some sub-zero lows out there too.
Fun fact: The last single digit low was in 2022, others have been above and below! pic.twitter.com/VhsdYnrHiM
Core of the cold for the next 48hrs. Winds not bad this week, temps moderate a bit late-week. pic.twitter.com/6XnZArtzav

Light snow grazes the Cape & Islands tonight! 🌨️ Up to 2 inches for Nantucket & 1-2″ at Chatham. Elsewhere in New England, arctic cold persists and @mattnoyes looks to the weekend and beyond. Full forecast: https://t.co/CmIFrqgetL pic.twitter.com/75HslWkAJZ

Bundle Up New England! Bitter cold & a biting wind are creating sub-zero wind chill values for many. How long will it last? https://t.co/7NFGPiN3lF pic.twitter.com/Q5Pa7aKICq
