Upon arrival at Bob Lobster, fire officials reported that three employees had evacuated the restaurant, and there was smoke coming from the roof.

The fire was located inside the roof and walls. Firefighters were quick to take out a small fire in the roof, but needed more time to fight several hot spots in the roof and walls.

No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the Newbury Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.

Bob Lobster, known for its stuffed lobster rolls and fried seafood platters, didn’t respond to emails and phone calls from Boston.com about current operations following the fire. The restaurant en route to Newbury Beach and Plum Island is normally open daily for lunch and dinner.
