Flour Bakery will open its 7th location in Back Bay next year
Flour Bakery and Cafe has announced it will be opening its seventh location at 30 Dalton in the Back Bay in 2017.
“The Back Bay is a thriving neighborhood that I’ve lived and worked in off and on for the last 25 years,” renowned pastry chef Joanne Chang said in a statement. “I’m extremely excited to open our 7th bakery and 2nd Back Bay location at 30 Dalton. We can’t wait to share our award-winning pastries, sandwiches, and specials with this part of the neighborhood in a spectacular new space.”
The bakery will be located on the first floor of the new luxury apartment building. The 1,400-square-foot space will feature indoor seating for up to 20 people, as well as an outdoor patio space for the summer. Construction begins in January 2017, according to 30 Dalton, with an expected opening in the spring.
Chang, a Harvard grad, announced in August a plan to expand her bakery and cafe, with the most recently opened location being in Harvard Square. A second Cambridge location is expected to open in Cambridgeport in December, with another Boston location, behind the Prudential Center, coming in January 2017.
The number of bakery locations isn’t the only thing on the rise this year for Chang. In addition to winning a James Beard Award in May, she is also continuing to run her growing Asian fusion restaurant Myers + Chang, and opening a new restaurant.
