Davis Square’s Spoke Wine Bar is closing in December
A Somerville restaurant will close its doors in December, according to the owner.
Spoke Wine Bar in Davis Square will shutter December 22, owner Felisha “Flea” Foster announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Foster has been running the 3-year-old restaurant from afar for much of the year due to health problems. A February post on the restaurant’s Facebook page said Foster was battling ALS.
“[T]his is not an ideal way to run a business,” Foster wrote. “This is especially true for someone like me whose goal was to not only discover amazing wine, but to be in the trenches every night sharing this experience with each and every one of my guests and staff.”
Foster thanked her staff, naming them in the post.
“It is a testament to my incredible staff that they have managed to soldier on without me for so long,” wrote Foster.
She also thanked her customers and said it will be “business as usual” until the restaurant’s closing date.
“I maintain faith that someone in the industry will buy the restaurant and continue what we started,” she wrote.
