President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders will visit a community college in New Hampshire on Tuesday, with plans to speak about lowering prescription drug costs.
The presidential event will take place from 3-5:30 p.m. at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord in the Crocker Gymnasium and the Caccia Student Center, according to the college.
The event is invitation-only and will have “large numbers of guests, security personnel, and media,” the college said.
The college is canceling classes on Tuesday for the event and told community members to expect “significant law enforcement presence,” traffic disruptions, and restricted access to some buildings and areas of campus from roughly 9:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The visit marks Biden’s first appearance in New Hampshire since he dropped out of the race and was replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Shortly after Biden stepped aside, Harris launched a “Republicans for Harris” campaign in New Hampshire, targeting Republican voters in the swing state.
Harris is leading in the polls in New Hampshire over former president Donald Trump, 50.7% to 44.3%.
