Members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation reacted to the news Friday that President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus by sending wishes for a full recovery and issuing reminders about the dangers of the virus to the public.

“This is another stark reminder that no one is immune from COVID-19,” Rep. Lori Trahan said.

The politicians urged that people continue measures to prevent the spread of the virus, pleading with everyone to wear masks.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III’s message was blunt.

“Wear a god damn mask,” the congressman wrote on Twitter.

“My thoughts are with the President and the First Lady as everyone hopes for their speedy recovery,” the senator said in a statement to Boston.com. “The virus is still with us and today’s development makes it clear that we need to remain vigilant and continue doing all the public health measures we’ve been talking about—wear a mask, wash hands and keep social distance.”
