Rep. Ayanna Pressley says she never wears her glasses in public. But on Wednesday night she posted a photo of herself wearing her specs for an empowering reason. The Massachusetts congresswoman wrote on Twitter that she ran out of her contact lenses, and so she found herself wearing her glasses in public. “Something I never, ever do, although I’ve been rockin’ bifocals since 2nd grade,” Pressley said. “Ran into a mom who asked me to post this pic for her [9-year-old] who hates her new glasses.”

Pressley tagged three of her fellow congresswomen — Lauren Underwood, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who also wear glasses.
