Massachusetts politicians react to Trump mocking Christine Blasey Ford at rally
“Shame on you, Mr. President.”
Bay State politicians are condemning President Donald Trump for mocking Christine Blasey Ford at a rally with his supporters in Mississippi on Tuesday night.
At the campaign rally, Trump made fun of Ford, who has accused the president’s nominee for the Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in the ’80s at a high school party, imitating her testimony before a Senate committee last week as the crowd around him laughed. Ford is one of three women who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. He has denied all the allegations against him.
Here’s how Massachusetts politicians are reacting to Trump’s ridicule of Ford.
Sen. Ed Markey
To my Republican colleagues: responding to Trump’s attacks with outrage and disgust is meaningless unless you are willing to stand up to him with action in the moments that matter. This entire process has been a disgrace. If you’re really appalled by it, vote no on #Kavanaugh. https://t.co/dxjcoi2269

Sen. Elizabeth Warren
Last night, the President viciously mocked a sexual assault survivor. @SenateGOP will have to decide whether to stand up to this disgusting behavior or not. But @realDonaldTrump will never silence Dr. Ford, or take away her strength and courage. https://t.co/gVmnUdmZHZ

Rep. Jim McGovern
Just saw that @realDonaldTrump is now mocking Dr. Blasey Ford at his rally in Mississippi. This is completely beyond the pale. Shame on you, Mr. President. pic.twitter.com/gOmhP9mS0R

Rep. Joe Kennedy
The president of the United States mocked a survivor of sexual assault. Not one Republican Senator appears ‘appalled’ enough to act.

Rep. Katherine Clark
Are you angry? Good. Me too. Now pick a House race and let’s go flip it so there’s finally a check on his monstrous behavior. #FlipTheHouse https://t.co/A55EBNjmpb
