Secretary of State William Galvin defeats challenger Josh Zakim in Democratic primary (10:45 p.m.)

The Associated Press called the race for the 24-year incumbent at 9:53 p.m. The secretary of state was challenged by 34-year-old Boston City Councilor Josh Zakim in the heated Democratic primary.
