Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced Wednesday evening that he has agreed to two election debates with challenger Tito Jackson, a Boston city councillor and second-place finisher in Tuesday’s preliminary election.

“Over the next six weeks, I look forward to speaking with as many voters as possible and debating real ideas of how to continue moving our city forward, and building a Boston for all of us,” said Walsh, who declined to debate Jackson and two other challengers before Tuesday’s election.

The first debate will be on Tuesday, October 10. It will be broadcast on WBZ radio (1030 AM) and hosted by talk radio host Dan Rea.

The second debate will come exactly two weeks later on October 24. It will be broadcast by WGBH on both TV and radio (Ch.2/89.7 FM) and hosted by daytime Boston Public Radio hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan.

Boston’s general municipal election is November 7.
