Warren and Markey want Trump’s ‘complete plan,’ goals for Syria
Massachusetts senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey want President Donald Trump to share his plans for ending the violence in Syria after the U.S. launched airstrikes Thursday night against a government air base in the war-torn country.
“We should not escalate this conflict without clear goals and a plan to achieve them,” Warren said in a statement following the assault.
Markey said he expects Trump to “fully brief” both Congress and the American people on his “complete plan to stop the Assad regime’s cycle of violence.”
“It is imperative that President Trump lays out his next steps to ensure the consequences of this military action do not lead us down a slippery slope ending in greater risk for our men and women in uniform,” he said.
