Warren delivers Dunkin’ Donuts to senator’s staff after marathon speech opposing Gorsuch
Elizabeth Warren showed her support for a fellow senator who spent more than 15 hours speaking on the Senate floor opposing the Supreme Court nomination of Neil Gorsuch with some tried-and-true New England sustenance: Dunkin’ Donuts. Warren delivered the treats to Sen. Jeff Merkley’s staff herself Wednesday morning after the Oregon Democrat yielded the floor. “Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley is a champion for working families – and he showed it overnight when he spoke for more than 15 hours about Judge Gorsuch,” Warren said on Facebook.

Warren, who also made her opposition to President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee clear Tuesday, cheered Merkley as he delivered his marathon talk.

Merkley thanked Warren on Twitter for the sugary show of support and reiterated his intention to fight Gorsuch’s nomination.
Thank YOU, @SenWarren! Glad to partner with you to fight for our #WeThePeople democracy and #StopGorsuch https://t.co/E0KNNS2Zfw

He wasn’t there for the Dunkin’ drop-off, perhaps because he was delivering his own thanks – in the form of coffee and bagels – to Senate floor staff who had to stay up all night while he spoke.
