Reebok released a shirt inspired by the Elizabeth Warren/Mitch McConnell fiasco
They sold out on the first day.
This is probably the first time a Mitch McConnell quote has been plastered across the front of a T-shirt intended for fitness enthusiasts.
Inspired by the Republican Senate leader’s now-infamous words following his move to attempt to silence Sen. Elizabeth Warren on the Senate floor last week, Reebok released a “Nevertheless, she persisted” women’s T-shirt Friday.
“We watched this week as our own state[‘s] senator was ‘silenced’ by her critics for doing her job,” Dan Mazei, a senior director at the Canton-based company, told the news site Mic in an email. “As dismayed as we were, we were also reignited by the rallying cry of, ‘Nevertheless, She Persisted.'”
Within hours of McConnell’s statement, the phrase became something of a feminist rallying cry on social media. And on Friday, Reebok had the shirt up on their website.
According to Reebok spokesman Dan Sarro, the shirt sold out on the first day of sale. Sarro said the company is working on loading additional inventory in order to make more shirts available by Monday or Tuesday.

According to Reebok’s website, the company will donate $20 to Women’s March for every shirt sold, the group behind the widespread protests following President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Reebok recently announced plans to move its headquarters to Boston’s Seaport District.
