Here are Donald Trump’s first tweets as president
Well that didn’t take too long.
Newly inaugurated U.S. president and prolific Twitter user Donald Trump’s first tweet(s) came less than an hour after he was sworn into office.
Taking lines from his inaugural speech, Trump said in a series of posts that his inauguration signaled a transition of power from Washington, D.C., to the American people.
power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People. #InaugurationDay

The Republican president went on to reiterate a number of his broader campaign pledges, including to “bring back our jobs” and to “bring back our borders.”
Trump has also taken over the @POTUS Twitter account and tweeted a link to the transcript of his prepared inaugural speech.
