L.L. Bean may be facing backlash after news that company heiress Linda Bean contributed to a Pro-Trump PAC, but there’s at least one person who doesn’t seem bothered by the link.President-elect Donald Trump voiced support for Bean on Twitter Thursday, thanking her for her “support and courage” and telling his followers to buy from the Maine company.

L.L. Bean’s chairman Shawn Gorman has attempted to distance the business from Bean since the The Associated Press reported last week that the heiress made excessive contributions to a Pro-Trump PAC, amid calls for boycotts of the company from an anti-Trump group.

Gorman said in a statement that Bean’s political activity doesn’t represent the other nine members of the board or the more than 50 family members involved in the business.

L.L.Bean does not endorse political candidates, take positions on political matters, or make political contributions,“ he said.
