Baker seeks to reassure Massachusetts on immigration after election

Governor Charlie Baker on Wednesday pledged to advocate for communities throughout Massachusetts as President-elect Donald Trump takes office, and said they are entitled to make their own determinations about how “to ensure harmony and public safety.”

The governor spoke with media at the State House after returning from a meeting of the Republican Governors Association, where he said vice president-elect Mike Pence assured him that the Trump administration would have an open ear to states.
