Question 3 is approved in Massachusetts
Massachusetts voters Tuesday passed a groundbreaking ballot question that would mandate all pork, veal, and eggs farmed and sold in Massachusetts come from pigs, calves, and laying hens not confined to ultratight quarters.
The Associated Press called the race Tuesday night. The animal welfare initiative, which would take effect in 2022, was leading 78 percent to 22 percent with 44 percent of precincts reporting just after 10:30 p.m., according to unofficial results.
