Judge weighing DiMasi’s request for early release wants more health information
The federal judge considering former House speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi’s request for early release from prison because of failing health demanded more information Friday about his medical condition before a hearing on the matter Tuesday in US District Court in Boston.
In a five-page order, Judge Mark L. Wolf wrote that the government, which is supporting DiMasi’s request, submitted a report showing DiMasi is currently classified as a “Medical Care Level II (Chronic care-stable)” inmate out of a possible four levels, four being the most severe.
