After an intense night full of attacks, interruptions, and threats of prosecution, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump ended Sunday night’s debate by complimenting each other.

The final question posed to the two candidates asked them each to name something they respected about their opponent.

Clinton went first and said she respected Trump’s children. Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany were sitting in the audience.

“His children are incredibly able, and devoted, and I think that says a lot about Donald,” Clinton said. “I do respect that. I think that is something that, as a mother and grandmother, is very important to me.”

Trump began his response by saying that Clinton’s words were a “very nice compliment.” He then added: “I don’t know if it was meant to be a compliment,” as Clinton laughed.

Trump, in turn, lauded Clinton for being a “fighter.”

“She doesn’t quit, she doesn’t give up,” Trump said. “I respect that. I tell it like it is. She’s a fighter. I disagree with much of what she’s fighting for. I do disagree with her judgment in many cases. But she does fight hard, and she doesn’t quit, and she doesn’t give up, and I consider that to be a very good trait.”
