Mitt Romney, Elizabeth Warren take similar stance on Donald Trump’s vulgar 2005 comments
Two Massachusetts politicians who usually sit on opposite sides on the aisle are taking a similar position in the wake of Donald Trump’s lewd 2005 comments about women, recordings of which were released Friday by The Washington Post and NBC News.
Mitt Romney and Elizabeth Warren both attacked the Republican nominee for president via Twitter Friday evening, following his statements he could “grab [women] by the p***y” because he was a “star.” In the recording, Trump also said he tried to have sex with a married woman — “I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there.”
Warren asked Trump, “Were you lying or was sexual assault part of your action every day? It’s a simple question. You should have to answer it.”
Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, also had strong words for Trump.
Hitting on married women? Condoning assault? Such vile degradations demean our wives and daughters and corrupt America’s face to the world.
