Howard Dean asks if Donald Trump’s sniffling in debate was due to cocaine

Donald Trump takes a sip of water during the first presidential debate Monday night.

For all the attention paid recently to Hillary Clinton’s health, it was Donald Trump’s apparent congestion that caught debate watchers’ attentions Monday night.

Trump’s sniffles were mainly the subject of jokes on social media, but Howard Dean, the former Vermont governor and Democratic Committee chair, asked if they were because the Republican nominee was a “coke user.”

Dean was presumably referring to the inhalant drug, and not the sugared version of Trump’s beloved Diet Coke.

There does not appear to be any evidence that Trump uses cocaine.
