Trump VP pick Mike Pence stopped by a North End eatery this weekend

Gov. Mike Pence joined Donald Trump on the Republican presidential ticket.

Mike Pence, the conservative Indiana Gov. and Donald Trump’s running mate, took in a meal at Mamma Maria in Boston’s North End over the weekend.

Though he arrived in Boston not long after a speech at the Republican National Convention, Pence’s visit was not a political one, his campaign told The Boston Globe. Instead, he and his wife were in Boston “to enjoy a quiet family weekend with their daughter who attends a local university,” his campaign said.

Pence’s daughter is a student at Northeastern University set to graduate in 2017.

A video of Pence leaving the restaurant shows a few dozen onlookers cheering for the VP pick.
