U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano might be a little late to the game in officially joining Twitter, but he’s making up for it with a first tweet that doesn’t pull any punches.

In the Massachusetts congressman’s first tweet on his official account, he called out House Speaker Paul Ryan regarding the Democrats’ sit-in, staged in June, to demand a vote on gun-control legislation.

“Welcome to my official Twitter account, which might just come in handy the next time the Speaker shuts the cameras off on the House floor,” he tweeted Tuesday.

During the sit-in, Republicans shut off cameras transmitting the scene to C-SPAN, leading Democrats to use their phones to share videos on Facebook, Twitter, and Periscope. Democrats pulled the same move as Republicans in 2008.

At the time of the sit-in, Capuano only had an account linked to his campaign, which he rarely used. Now, if the sit-ins continue, he’ll be ready to join the other Massachusetts Democrats using Twitter to welcome the arrival of Sen. Elizabeth Warren and dozens of Dunkin’ Donuts.
