Six tiny New England chefs are headed to the White House this July.

Kalaya Moody, 10, of Connecticut; Scout Bookham, 8, of Maine; Abby Newman, 10, of Massachusetts; Jude VanderHooven, 8, of New Hampshire; Pablo Aizenman, 10, of Rhode Island; and Miranda Gallagher, 8, of Vermont, each won the White House’s fifth annual Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, a nationwide recipe contest that promotes healthy eating for kids ages 8-12, according to the contest’s site.

The winners, one representing each state, will attend a Kids’ “State Dinner”—which in keeping with the contest’s theme is actually a lunch—at the White House with First Lady Michelle Obama on July 14. The challenge, part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative, received almost 1,000 entries.
