John Kasich tells New Hampshire voters he’s the ‘right porridge’

Republican presidential candidate, Ohio Gov. John Kasich speaks Monday at a town hall in Windham, New Hampshire.

During a town hall Monday in Windham, New Hampshire, Republican candidate John Kasich was confronted by a voter who was trying to decide between him, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders.

A little bemused at his company in the voter’s top three candidates, the Ohio governor made his case in the context of a classic fairy tale. Kasich said that — while Sanders is too extreme and Clinton is too poll-driven and “brittle’’ — he is the best compromise in terms of an independent-minded candidate.

“I’m the right porridge,’’ Kasich said, a reference to Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

“One of them is too hot, the other is too cold,’’ he said. “But I’m the right temperature.’’

Ironically, when it comes to the New Hampshire primary, Kasich and the rest of the Republican field may find Tuesday night that Donald Trump has stolen their bed.
