Of course Trump does terribly with Hispanic voters, poll finds
Yeah, worse than that.
Who would’ve guessed? If you call Mexicans rapists and drug-runners, (even if you assume some are good people), Hispanic voters aren’t going to love you.
A poll by Gallup asked roughly 650 hispanics adults about their views of GOP presidential candidates, and the results were predictably bad for Donald Trump.
The favorability ratings were determined by subtracting the percent unfavorable from the percent favorable. Jeb Bush came out on top, with a score of +11, while Marco Rubio, George Pataki, and Carly Fiorina all rated positively.
Of the 10 negatively rated candidates, The Donald came in last place, with a whopping -51 net favorable score.
According to Gallup, “Eight in 10 [hispanics] have formed an opinion of Trump and about six in 10 of Bush,’’ making them the most recognized GOP candidates, and the only ones recognised by a majority of those polled.
Hispanic respondents seem to have formed a more favorable opinion about Hillary Clinton. The Democratic frontrunner received a favorable +40 rating among respondents.
Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
