While campaigning in Iowa on Tuesday, Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio took a moment to toss around the ol’ pigskin with an ambitious young receiver. The Florida senator likely never expected the wobbly, five-yard slant would become the meme of the day.

Fortunately, the kid wasn’t hurt, according to Politico.
For fans of the New England Patriots, Rubio’s pass perhaps brought back dark memories of similar throw that was just a bit behind its intended receiver, with somewhat higher stakes (i.e. Super Bowl XLVI) .
