Gawker just published Donald Trump’s cell phone number

Donald Trump may just learn that revenge is a dish best called cold.

At a campaign rally two weeks ago, Trump gave out the phone number of rival GOP presidential candidate Lindsey Graham.

“Try it,’’ Trump urged his hundreds of supporters.

Graham, the senior senator for South Carolina, responded by destroying his cell phone in a light-hearted video.

The tables turned on entertainment and real estate mogul Monday afternoon, when the website Gawker published Trump’s cell phone number:

Since Trump, in his considered political judgment, has decided that opening up a direct, personal channel of communications between his supporters and his primary opponents is a noble campaign tactic, we think it’s only fair and right that Republican primary voters be able to reach out to Trump himself. If it is the case—as Trump’s release of Graham’s number implicitly argues—that our political discourse improves when voters can ring up candidates on their private cell phones, then we are happy to add Trump’s cell phone number to the body of public knowledge. You can reach Donald Trump at 917-756-8000.

A call to the number went directly to Trump’s mailbox, which was full.

Sam Biddle, senior writer for Gawker who published the story, wrote an aide was answering the number “at least some of the time,’’ but said he was able to reach Trump.

However, comments posted as early as two minutes after the original story went up said Trump’s mailbox was full.

On Twitter, Trump appeared unfazed, tweetingresults of a national poll released Monday indicating a 2-to-1 lead over his GOP primary opponents

“He has a nice phone voice, though,’’ Biddle added.
