Don’t worry, Hillary, Mitt Romney will teach you how to smile
“She is smiling with her mouth,’’ Romney said, “but her eyes are saying, ‘Where’s my latte?’’’
Who’s a good smiler?
Commentary
During his failed presidential campaign, Mitt Romney could never quite shake his reputation as a stiff businessman incapable of genuine emotion. Yet there Romney was on MSNBC on Monday ripping Hillary Clinton for having an insincere smile:
“Somehow, though, when you see her on a stage or when she comes into a room full of people, she is smiling with her mouth, but her eyes are saying, ‘Where’s my latte?’ It just doesn’t suggest that she believes everything she’s saying.’’
As Boston Magazine correctly points out, it is a particular irony that Romney and his stiff upper lip would be the one to level analysis on facial movements.
But the perception of Romney’s inability to smile has never quite squared with reality, and he has perfected many varieties of his smirking mug over the years. Take note of these 10 glorious faces, Hillary.
