NH GOP chicken promoted to head of communications
Less than a year ago Michael Zona was dressed as a giant chicken, clucking after New Hampshire Democrats on the campaign trail.
On Monday, WMUR reported that the young, GOP operative will spread his wings as the New Hampshire Republican Party’s new communications director. After joining the NHGOP in April 2014 as a junior staffer, Zona has ascended quickly for a flightless bird.
In August 2014, Zona was arrested for flapping too aggressively after Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Gov. Maggie Hassan at a parade. Police said he would not cease his flapping when asked, and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

However, Zona –who said Shaheen was too chicken to hold town hall events — would not be cooped. Prosecutors dropped the charges several weeks later.
Now Zona is the public face of the NHGOP, and I am out of chicken puns.
