Jeb Bush Announces ‘Possibility’ of Presidential Intentions via Social Media

Jeb Bush may be getting a bit restless in his absence from politics. So, like any other Bush might do with an abundance of idle time, he has his eyes set on achieving additional political aspirations.

The former two-term governor of Florida — the brother of former President George W. Bush and son of former President George H.W. Bush — is apparently looking to add on to his family’s dynastic presence in the White House by deciding “to actively explore the possibility of running for President of the United States.’’

Is that clear enough for you?

In an era where politicians are increasingly trying to extend the reach of their political demographics by using social media, Bush followed suit Tuesday morning by making the announcement via Facebook and Twitter.

Bush, concerned “about the future of our nation,’’ believes he possesses “the kind of strong leadership I think America needs.’’ (Never mind the fact that he starts off his announcement by wishing everybody a “Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!’’ What, no love for Kwanzaa?)

Timing is everything, and if history is any indication, a Bush is scheduled to return to the nation’s highest office in 2016: Bush Sr. was president prior to Bill Clinton’s administration, and “W’’ reigned before President Obama took office in 2008. Jeb Bush is likely betting that chronological rationale pays off for him.

Bush’s announcement muddies the Republican presidential primary picture a bit, as Mitt Romney and Chris Christie have been the presumed front-runners in that contest. However, at least according to one recent poll, none of that matters since voters prefer Democrat Hillary Clinton to lead the country instead of five Republican would-be candidates, including Bush.
