Friends and relatives are remembering a Methuen teen, who was killed in a crash on I-495 on Saturday, for her love of music and the outdoors.

Private funeral services for Alexis “Lexi” Spartz, who had enlisted in the New Hampshire Army National Guard and worked for Toss & Sauce in Hampstead, will take place Friday in Windham. A public wake will also take place Friday for friends and classmates to attend, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carrier Funeral Home in Windham.

“She loved spending time with her grandparents, kayaking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing,” her obituary reads. “She loved the outdoors and being with her sister.”

Alexis “Lexi” Spartz, 18 of Methuen, MA, died Sat. March 31st at the Lawrence General Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Lexi was born in Derry, NH, grew up and was educated in Hampstead, NH and Methuen, MA, having attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry and graduated from Methuen High School in 2017. She had enlisted in the NH Army National Guard.

Lexi worked for Toss & Sauce in Hampstead, NH. She loved spending time with her grandparents, kayaking, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing. She loved the outdoors and being with her sister. Also Lexi loved music and was a big part of her life.

Lexi is survived by her beloved parents Caitlyn (Schelling) LaFrancis of Hampstead, NH and James Spartz of Methuen, MA

Siblings: Alayna Berquist of Hampstead, NH and Zachary Spartz of Methuen, MA.

Maternal Grandparents: Cathy and Dennis Schelling of Derry, NH

Paternal Grandparents: Dottie and Robert Spartz of Pipesten, WV

Several aunts and uncles including Ryan and his wife Arianne Schelling of Florida

Several cousins

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Friday, April 6th from 4-8 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Funeral services will be private for the family and cremation will follow. The family request that the media not come and respect the privacy of the family.
