Police: New Hampshire man, grandson missing after motorcycle ride
Authorities are asking for help finding 69-year-old Jerry Proper and 22-year-old Cody Pillsbury.
New Hampshire authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a grandfather and grandson who were reported missing after going for a motorcycle ride on Labor Day.Family members reported Jerry Proper, 69, and his grandson, 22-year-old Cody Pillsbury, missing on Tuesday when they still had not returned home, Newport police said. “It is believed that they left the Newport area on Monday, September 7, 2020 shortly after 2:00 PM riding on a red 2001 Honda GL18R1 Trike with NH license plates,” police said in a statement Wednesday. “There was no set destination, but Proper is an avid rider and frequently travels throughout the western NH/Lakes Region area on his motorcycle.”The 22-year-old had a cellphone with him, but police told the Associated Press information from the device is limited because of bad cell service. Laura Pillsbury, the 22-year-old’s mother, told the New Hampshire Union Leader that her father picked up her son from his Newport home on Monday for the ride. She told the newspaper that the area where her son’s phone last pinged was searched and both men’s bank records have been checked. She pleaded with the public to help locate her father and son. “There is so much going on but I’m begging all of you to continue looking for them,” she said, according to the Leader. “Please look over banks, in ditches when (you’re) walking, driving, on your bikes, on your motorcycle. Please don’t stop looking for them! Please bring my Dad and my precious son home. Time is of the essence.”Anyone with information is being asked to contact Newport police at 603-863-3232.
