U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling releases brief statement on death of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger

Bulger died Tuesday in a federal prison in West Virginia. He was 89.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling released a short statement Tuesday afternoon, following the death of Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger.

“We received word this morning about the death of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger. Our thoughts are with his victims and their families,” the U.S. attorney for the District of Massachusetts said.
