Hillary Clinton explains why she loves when Republicans are on Colbert
“They act like we all have amnesia,’’ Clinton said.
Hillary Clinton accused Republicans of believing the American people have amnesia in her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night.
“Look at the mess [Obama] inherited,’’ Clinton said. “I love it when you have Republicans on here, and they act like we all have amnesia. We had the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.’’
Clinton praised the economic growth while her husband Bill Clinton was president, and said that was lost in the eight years when President George W. Bush was president. Colbert then asked if that meant we were going back to the 1990s.
“It’s not the Clinton Administration 2.0,’’ Colbert suggested.
“We’re not going back. I’m not running for my husband’s third term. I’m not running for President Obama’s third term,’’ Clinton said. “I’m running for my first term, but I’m going to do what works. And we have an understanding of what works.’’

Colbert also asked Clinton if she could picture either Donald Trump or Ben Carson in the White House office.
“I can picture them in some office,’’ she quipped.
