A 23-year-old Google employee from Massachusetts decided to save money on housing costs by living in a truck in the company parking lot.

The employee, named Brandon, interned at Google last summer, and found even the cheapest corporate housing offered would run him about $2,000 a month, Business Insider reports. When he got hired full-time, he put his $10,000 signing bonus down on a 16-foot Ford truck, with a bed, a dresser, and a coat rack.

According to BI, the only recurring cost is truck insurance – a snip at $121 a month compared to what he would be paying in rent at a traditional apartment. He showers, eats, and charges his electronics on Google’s campus, and documents his experiences on a blog called “Thoughts from Inside the Box.’’
