Everything’s turning up Kennedy.

Congressman Joe Kennedy III and Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy both had big days on Wednesday, one personal and one professional.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III announced on Facebook that he and his wife Lauren were expecting their first child, a baby girl, in late December. “[We] can’t wait to introduce her to Team Kennedy around the holidays,’’ he wrote.

Kennedy, the son of former Rep. Joe Kennedy II and grandson of famed Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, spent the rest of the day thanking local and national politicians for their congratulations. Messages like so:

In other Camelot news, Caroline Kennedy wielded her influence as U.S. ambassador to Japan to secure the release of U.S. citizen and former Toyota executive Julie Hamp from a Japanese jail, USA Today reports.

Hamp, Toyota’s highest-ranking female executive, was arrested three weeks ago for allegedly importing 57 pills of the painkiller oxycodone into Japan without government permission. She resigned from her position at Toyota in response, a show of remorse that was enough for Japan to release her without charges.

Ambassador Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, took an “active role’’ in advising and discussing with Japanese officials for Hamp’s release, USA Today reports.

Chalk it up as two wins for America’s most famous political dynasty. And with Rep. Kennedy’s announcement, that dynasty is likely to get a little longer.
