NYC Mayor Accidentally Emails New York Times About Subway Delay
Oops!
Boston isn’t the only city with subway problems.
And you aren’t the only one who sometimes emails the wrong person.
The New York Times reports that Mayor Bill de Blasio accidentally copied a Times reporter on an email to his staff complaining about subway delays and his MIA security detail.
Oops!
De Blasio was taking the subway to a speaking engagement in Midtown Manhattan. According to the Times, the train never showed up and, to add insult to injury, his security vehicle had left.
The subject line of the email was “2 problems today’’ and de Blasio wrote, in part:
The detail drove away when we went into the subway rather than waiting to confirm we got on a train. We need a better system … We waited 20 minutes for an express only to hear there were major delays. This was knowable info. Had we had it, we would have avoided a lot of hassles.
To add even more insult to injury, earlier this week local transit advocates complained his office was not devoting enough resources to the city’s public transportation system and transportation delays have increased.
