Report: Freddie Gray Received Head Injuries in Van
A law enforcement official toldThe Washington Post that Freddie Gray hit his head on a bolt and suffered head injuries like those suffered in car accidents during his mysterious ride in a police transport van.
The report adds to the questions about what actually happened to Gray, whose death April 19 sparked riots in Baltimore Monday.
The findings, which have not been publicly released, are part of the investigation provided to prosecutors by Baltimore police Thursday. The investigation will help determine whether the officers will be indicted.
The law enforcement official told the Post that Gray, 25, had more than one head injury. Gray died of a spinal injury. Gray’s legs were shackled during the ride. But, in a violation of police policy, he was not wearing a seatbelt.
